[Level Up]Finding Your New Center of Gravity

Is there a ton of transition going on in your life right now? Especially because of the last two years? You may feel like the ground is shifting under you like the tectonic plates under the earth’s surface.

That’s what’s happening in my world in just a few “small” areas. Right now:

  • I’m selling my home and moving.

  • I’m starting something brand new in my business. (Launching soon, you’ll be the first to know!)

  • I’m entering a new phase of being more “available” for my aging parents.

  • Might as well throw in that I’m changing my eating habits to become a lean, mean, fat-burning machine (that’s what I tell myself to laugh and stay motivated).

Some days I’m excited about all these new changes.

Other days I’m just tired of it all and want a glass of wine (But, oh, not so fast, Mary. Remember, you are curbing your wine enthusiasm for being a lean, mean, fat-burning machine.)

But there’s no escaping that change and challenge makes me, you, and everyone feel off balance more times than we want.

We all find emotional steadiness in our daily routines and schedules. They give us our “center of gravity” to operate from.

So, when we start spending our time differently to address a challenge or make a big change, we easily get unsettled, irritated, and want to go back to what we know.

But we can’t make progress going back.

So, what can we do? The only way I’ve found is to put one foot in front of the other. I keep moving in the direction I want to go.

And when I’m emotionally tired, I take a break.

Those are the times that I DO have a glass of wine. Sometimes it’s to temporarily put all the change on the side burner. Other times it’s to celebrate another step. Mostly it’s to let the uncomfortable become a little more comfortable.

In time I know I’ll find a new center of gravity and new way to stand. Because it’s happened before, so I know it will happen again if I keep at it.

So, right now, if you’re feeling a bit out of sorts because of challenge and change, know you’re in the right place.

Keep moving. Keep putting one foot in front of the other. Keep smiling when you can. And take a nap when you can’t.

In time, will find your new center of gravity and be standing strong!

Plus, whenever you’re ready here are 2 ways I can help rev up you and your business as a women entrepreneur:

  1. Sign-up for the Stay Strong + REV UP email series. We’ll take one topic at a time and break it down so you get the strategies, insights, and mindset shifts you can use right away.

  2. Apply now for REV UP Society membership starting July 1. Book a call. to determine if membership is a good fit. You will talk about where you are today, where you want to be, and what you need to rev up and level up.
